Adeel N Khan, MD, is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in vitreoretinal surgery. He treats patients for a variety of medical and surgical eye conditions and diseases including macular disease, diabetic retinopathy, and retinal detachments at Retina Associates of Indiana.
He received his undergraduate degrees in Biology and Chemistry graduating Magna Cum Laude at Houston Baptist University, and completed medical school at The Texas A&M College of medicine graduating with high honors. Due to his academic achievement, he was inducted in the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honors Society. He was also awarded the Raleigh R White Surgical Excellence Award for being the top student in surgical rotation, and The Outstanding Student award by VA hospital in Temple, TX. Dr Khan then attended the University of Texas Medical Branch – Galveston, where he completed his residency in ophthalmology as Co-Chief Resident and was the co-director of St. Vincents charity ophthalmology clinic.
Dr. Khan furthered his training with a fellowship in vitreoretinal surgery at Retina Institute of Indiana which essentially served the entire northern region of Indiana. Dr. Khan has proudly served the veterans at Indianapolis VA where he was also involved with ophthalmology residency training. During his time at the University of Texas Medical Branch – Galveston, Dr. Khan received the Resident Teaching Award and was nominated as one of Top Doctors in Albuquerque as well Excellence of Care award by DaVita Medical Group for being ranked 99% percentile on patient Press Ganey surveys. Dr. Khan and his wife, enjoy raising their three sons in Fort Wayne, IN.
